Poetry | Art Exhibition | Ghazal Night
City District Government Peshawar has created a mega-scale national occasion at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar on 15th June 2019 by organising a mushaira, art exhibition, and mehfil e ghazal with more than thirty internationally renowned artists from all over Pakistan. For the very first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such a mega scale literary event has been organised.
In the first phase of poetry – Pashto, Hindko and Seraiki, the famous poet and writer Saad Ullah Jan Barq has been honoured as the chief guest, whereas Dr. Abaseen Yousafzai has hosted the session starting with his poetry followed by Amjad Ali Khadim, Iqbal Mohmand, Professor Hissam Hur, Zafar Khan, Akram Umerzai, Sayeda Haseena Gul, Rohan Yousafzai, Mohammad Haneef Qais, Farooq Jan Babar, Hussain Ahmad Sadiq, Professor Aseer Mangal, Mushtaq Shabab, Professor Darvesh Durrani, Rehmat Shah Saill, and Saad Ullah Jan Burq.
In the second phase of poetry – Urdu, the famous poet Amjad Islam Amjad has been honoured as the chief guest, whereas Professor Nasir Ali Sayed has hosted this session starting with his poetry followed by Bushra Farrukh, Aziz Ijaz, Professor Dr. Nazeer Tabbasum, Waqas Aziz, Sughra Sadaf, Naveed Anjum, Professor Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed, Farhat Abbas Shah, Kishwar Naheed, Sehar Ansari, and Professor Amjad Islam Amjad.
Eminent artists Ali Sajid and Ehsan Danish have exhibited their artworks in the Nishtar Hall gallery depicting the indigenous culture, history, and heroes of the region. Art lovers from different walks of life have praised the artworks. Internationally renowned ghazal singer Ustad Hamid Ali Khan has also made the event more beautiful with his mesmerising voice later in the ghazal night. He mentioned that Peshawar is the city of music and art lovers and he is very happy to perform here after such a long time in a house full of fans.
Senator Shibli Faraz (son of the late poet Ahmad Faraz) has participated as the guest of honour. Mayor Peshawar, in a media talk, has mentioned that it is a dream coming true to organise a benchmark literary event in Peshawar for which he is thankful to all the legendary artists and the management team. He has also acknowledged the guests and visitors in a large number for coming and making the event successful.
