Dr Ahmar Mahboob, one of the renowned linguists from the University of Sydney, Australia was invited for a talk on literacy, Education and Language.
Dr. Prof. Mahboob mentioned that unfortunately in many societies the goal of education is “literacy”, which for ages has been defined as an individual ability to read and write only. He added that we need to shift our focus from individual development to Community development.
He also shared his”Trash Project” to identify health and environmental issues and to take measurable steps about health of the people by bringing awareness.
Dr Mahboob extended an open invitation to the audience for questions and answers session. The talk was very well received by the audience. Souvenir to the guest was presented by the college Principal.
